The warm-ups and qualifying starts just after 08:00 and the first race will take place at 10:30. Gates open at 07:00.

Nissan has returned to circuit racing after an absence of five years and the two Sasol backed Nissan 350 Z models will be piloted by the multi SA Champion Gary Formato and the veteran racer Duncan Vos. These will lock horns with the BMW's 331i and the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA models in the Class A championship. Speculations are that Audi will make its racing debut at this event.

General tickets at R30 will allow spectators to watch the race from the embankments and also from inside the paddock. These tickets will not give access to the pitlane, but do give access to the back of the pits. Spectators can bring their braais and cooler boxes and refreshments will also be on sale. Children under 12 attend free.

In addition Welkomites are treated to a special scrutineering of the Radiator SA Superbikes in front of the Goldfields Casino on Friday night, starting at 18:00. Lots of prizes and free tickets are up for grabs.

Meanwhile, the Castle Lager Street Festival, organized by the the Matjhabeng Publicity Association and Matjhabeng.Info, is coinciding with the races at Phakisa and three city blocks of the double roadway in Stateway will be enclosed with razor wire for the entire weekend.

People can look forward to stunt men, dancers, an arts and craft market at Rovers Club, says Mr Johnny Abatzoglou, Chairman of the Matjhabeng Publicity Association. People are requested to only bring gas braaiers to the street festival due to the safety of the stunt riders.
